Registration for new students starts March 19

Registration for all students new to Los Fresnos CISD will be held March 19-29 at the respective campuses.
All eligible students report to their zoned school to register on weekdays between the hours of 8-11 a.m. and noon-3:30 p.m.

Requirements for all students are the following:
- Child’s birth certificate or other document as proof of the child’s identity
- Parent Identification
- Social Security numbers are NOT required. However, Social Security numbers are requested for identification purposes if available.
- Copy of child’s records from the school most recently attended
- Satisfactory evidence of required immunizationsProof of address (current tax records or utility bill)
- Proof of address (current tax records or current utility statement)
- Proof of income (current documents for eligibility of lunch status)
Pre-Kindergarten Eligibility – Open Enrollment
To be eligible for enrollment under Open Enrollment for students of Los Fresnos CISD residents:
- Parent/guardian must be a resident of Los Fresnos CISD; AND
- Child reaches four years of age on or before September 1, 2018
Pre-Kindergarten Eligibility – State-Approved Enrollment
To be eligible for enrollment under state-approved guidelines:
- Parent/guardian must be a resident of Los Fresnos CISD; AND
- Child reaches four years of age on or before September 1, 2018; AND
- Limited English Proficiency; or
- Educationally disadvantaged according to state’s standards (free/reduced lunch); or
- Child is homeless; or
- The child of an active-duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority; or
- The child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty within the district; or
- The child has ever been in the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (foster care) following an adversary hearing.
For kindergarten eligibility, students must be five years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2018.
