Cameron County Fair & Livestock Show Cowgirl Pageant Winners Announced

Cameron County Fair & Livestock show is in its’ 39th year in 2019. This year the show has 108 entries in the home show division that includes canning and sewing projects this year and 525 livestock entries. A live auction of the shop projects and baked good items will not be held this year. Exhibitors will once again be awarded premium money based on their placings instead of the auction. From the 4H and FFA exhibitors to the Pee-Wee Showmanship there is a great deal of learning and friendly competition during the three day show.
The Heart of America Carnival will be here 0nce again to bring out the youth in us all as we ride the thrilling rides or play the games in efforts to win prizes or just look at the bright lights. Carnival hours of operation will be Thursday February 14, 2019 would start at 6 PM till 10 PM with a special price of $10 for all day passes. Friday February 15, 2019 would start at 5 PM till 11 PM with a price of $20 for all day passes Saturday February 16, 2019 would start at 2 PM till 11 PM with a price of $20 for all day passes. Sunday February 17, 2019 would start at 1 PM till 7 PM with a price of $20 for all day passes.
On January 19, 2019 the Cowgirl pageant was held at the Los Fresnos High School. Twenty three young ladies competed for the crown in the various divisions. The 2019 CCFLS Cowgirl will be Sadie Cash representing Harlingen FFA Club 1st Runner-up is Aizza Zamarripa representing Los Fresnos FFA, and 2nd Runner-up is Angelina Galvan representing Highland Hustlers 4H. The Junior Cowgirl will be Emily Zimmerer representing Southern Star 4H, 1st runner-up will be Ryleigh Greer representing Arroyo 4-H, 2nd runner-up will be Tatum Helmer representing Arroyo 4H. The Petite Cowgirl will be Natalie Vela representing Harlingen South FFA, 1st runner-up will be Madison Stumbaugh representing East Cameron County 4H and 2nd runner up will be Melissa Jaramillo representing Los Fresnos FFA
The 2018 CCFLS Cowgirl is Karen Waters representing East Cameron County 4H. She goes on to represent the Los Fresnos PRCA Rodeo as their Queen for 2019.
