Special Thanks to Texas A&M Task Force 1
- Updated: September 13, 2019
Los Fresnos Fire Station hosted a team from Texas A&M Task Force 1 (TX-TF1) who were deployed to the Valley in the wake of Tropical Storm Fernand. The team stayed at the Los Fresnos Fire Station while in the valley and were available on stand by if the need arose.
TX-TF1 is a State & FEMA team with expertise in urban search & rescue, water rescue, and helicopter rescue. On September 3, 2019 in response to Tropical Storm Fernand, the Texas Department of Emergency Management deployed TX-TF1.
While no direct impact to south Texas was expected, the State of Texas positioned two Water Rescue Squads, which stayed right here in Los Fresnos, as well as a Water Group Supervisor to support local responders. Thanks Texas A&M Task Force 1!
