Latin Jazz Festival Coming to Brownsville This Weekend
- Updated: October 11, 2019
by Tony Vindell/LFN
If music, particularly the one that makes people dance, is on the minds of anyone, then head out to Brownsville to the 23rd Annual Latin Jazz Festival.
The three-day extravaganza, which features dancers from Mexico and the Rio Grande Valley, will be held from Thursday, Oct. 10 through Saturday, Oct. 12.
Several bands will also play each day of the festival.
In year’s past, the festival has been held from Friday through Sunday but attendance has been declining on the last day which usually clashes with the Dallas Cowboys games.
Also, the festival venue has been changed from Levee Street to the Brownsville Historical Market Square.
The festival will kick off with the Clay Moore Band at 8 a.m. Thursday night at the Half Moon Saloon at 1105 Adams Street.
Friday and Sunday events will be at Market Square at E. Adams and 11 streets.
The Brew will play Sunday night and Del Castillo will perform Saturday night.
