Neme Recognized in National Art Magazine

Los Fresnos High School senior Marvely Neme has been featured in the November edition of Albricias, the student magazine of the Sociedad Honorario Hispanica.
The SHH is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and/or Portuguese, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. The society recognizes high achievement of high school students in both languages and promotes interest in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian studies.
The magazine features art, poetry and literature from students from around the country. The November issue highlighted work done by 43 students.
Neme’s artwork was entitled “La chipaneca de Agua Azul” featured a folkloric dancer on rocks in a river with a waterfall in the background. Her artwork reflects her love for the folklorico dancing and the natural landscapes of Mexico.
She received a monetary award for her second place national finish.
Neve, president of the Spanish Honor Society at Los Fresnos High School and LFU, represented Capitulo Voces Hispanas de Los Fresnos. Mariana Saldaña, Spanish teacher at LFU, is SHH sponsor.
