Zombie Run & Monster Mile This Weekend
- Updated: October 25, 2019
by Tony Vindell/LFN
Calling all zombies!
The call, however, has nothing to do with the season of the popular show “The Walking Dead” which began its new season two weeks ago.
It’s to participate in this month’s 5K Zombie Run & Monster Mile and those showing up are encouraged to wear their favorite freaky costumes.
Pets are welcome and the proceeds from the event will benefit the Tip of Texas Family Outreach Center.
The event will take place in Brownsville this month, a time of year when television shows, movies and many community events are held in anticipation of Halloween, which is on Oct. 31.
The Zombie Run & Monster Mile will start at 5 p.m. at 455 E. Levee St. and participants will make their way through the streets of downtown Brownsville.
There will be sponsor tables along the way handing out goodies.
T-shirts, medals and other things will be available while supplies last and make sure to wear comfortable footwear for the three-hour walk or jog.
You can register for the 5K Zombie Run & Monster Mile online by following this link.
