Schools throughout the country were observing National School Lunch Week with activities last week.
There were educational contests at secondary schools to the National School Lunch Week theme, “School Lunch: What’s on your playlist?”
Other events that took place throughout the week were drawing contests at the elementary schools and a la carte giveaways for the “Lucky Trays.”
At Villarreal Elementary and other schools, students invited their parents and grandparents to share lunch with them.
Liberty Memorial Middle School staff brought a barbecue pit and cooked up hamburgers for students last Thursday.
