The 2020 Los Fresnos Rodeo is less than two months away but preparation for the city’s biggest event of the year is a never ending task.
A crew has been working to build four new skyboxes on the north side of the arena and, once built, it will bring the number of the reserved boxes to eight.
City Manager Mark Milum said the four new skyboxes should be ready in the next couple of weeks.
The boxes are part of ongoing improvements made to the facility, which will hold its 31st bull riding, horse bucking and barrel racing activities on Feb. 15, 16 and 17.
A poster announcing next year’s rodeo is already out and can been seen posted at various locations in town, including city hall and Harvey LP Gas Co.
The annual three-day event attracts thousands of spectators and it’s held in conjunction with the Cameron County Fair & Livestock Show.
So start getting ready for Los Fresnos Rodeo, an event that brings some of the best cowboys and cowgirls from the state, the nation and the world competing in one of the country’s best arenas.
