RV park residents donate money to Los Frenos EMS
- Updated: March 6, 2020

Los Fresnos Emergency Medical Services and the Family Crisis Center each received a financial boost thanks to a donation from the residents of a recreational vehicle park.
A check for $800 was presented to each organization on Wednesday, Feb. 26 on behalf of the residents of Palmdale RV Resort Park.
The money was raised from a pig roast and a live auction held recently in the park recreational hall.
About 200 tickets were sold during the gathering, which was attended mostly by park residents.
“We did well this time,” said Linda Haynes, the park’s president with the tenants committee. “We had $625 last year.”
The two checks were presented to a group of paramedics and to Jacklyn Medrano, a director with the Harlingen-based FCC.
“This money will help out with our clients who are victims of domestic violence and sexual assault,” Medrano said. “All our services are free of charge.”
Eddie Candanoza, an EMS paramedic, thanked the park residents saying they appreciate their support.
Haynes said this is the 13th year that they have donated money.
“We have been doing this for a while,” she said. “We like to support the community.”
