Lady Falcons picking up steam as district slate approaches

The Los Fresnos Lady Falcons softball team had an outstanding performance at the Los Fresnos/Port Isabel Tournament, which was held Feb. 27-29. The team went 4-1 over the weekend to improve to an impressive 9-3 overall record.
The team opened the round-robin style tourney with an impressive 18-4 win over Hidalgo and then followed that up with an 11-0 shutout victory over Devine.
On the second day, the Lady Falcons topped Sharyland 8-2 but then met their match as Lyford handed them a 4-3 loss. The team then concluded the tournament with a 7-3 win over Rio Hondo.
The Lady Falcons competed in the Brownsville ISD Tournament on March 5-7 and then opened district play on March 10 at San Benito. They take on Harlingen South at home on March 13 with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m.
