Falcon Fans: Be aware of new Clear Bag Policy
- Updated: October 29, 2020
Los Fresnos CISD is implementing a Clear Bag Policy for entrance to Leo Aguilar Memorial Stadium during varsity football games
Los Fresnos Falcon football fans attending home games must follow the new school district Clear Bag Policy.
The goal of the policy is to keep everyone attending the game be part of a safer environment. Other high school stadiums around the Valley and state have policies in place. Clear bag policies are common in collegiate and professional sports.
Home games are scheduled at 7 p.m. Oct. 23, Oct. 30, and Nov. 6. Gates open at 6 p.m. for each game. A home game scheduled for Dec. 4 may be postponed or canceled.
The policy can be viewed and downloaded here:
Clear Bag Policy Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if a fan shows up at the gate with a bag that is not permitted?
Guests will not be allowed to enter Leo Aguilar Memorial Stadium with a bag that is not in compliance. Guests will be asked to return prohibited items to their vehicles.
Are all purses prohibited?
No. Small clutch purses, with or without a handle or strap, no larger than the palm of an adult hand are permitted. Purses larger than this are not permitted.
Are diaper bags permitted?
Everything that you would put into a diaper bag must be carried in a clear bag. Each guest, including children, is allowed to carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse into the stadium.
Do I have to put everything I’m carrying into the permissible bags?
No. Guests are limited only to the type of bags carried into the stadium, not items that they may normally bring to a game that fit in pockets or clutch bags (keys, makeup, feminine products, comb, phone, wallet, credit cards). Guests may also use the clear bag and clutch to carry these items and other permissible items. Every member of the family may carry in a permissible bag. Only prohibited items cannot be carried in clear bags into venues.
Can smartphones, tablets, binoculars, or cameras be carried SEPARATELY from the clear bag? Yes. Phones, cameras, or binoculars may be carried in by hand. Cases for these items are not allowed.
Can guests bring blankets and large jackets during cold weather?
Yes. Guests are welcome to carry blankets outside of a clear bag. Guests may bring extra coats and jackets into the athletics venues by tossing them over a shoulder or arm. Guests should be prepared to have jackets with pockets searched.
Can guests bring stadium seats or chairback seats?
Yes. Guests are permitted to bring in their own stadium seats or chairbacks provided the seats do not have any pockets or zippers and do not exceed 12x12x18 inches.
How many bags may each person bring into the stadium?
One large clear bag — either a one-gallon clear resealable plastic bag or a 12” x 6” x 12” clear bag — plus a small clutch. The larger clear bag must be a standard 12” x 6” x 12” made of clear PVC vinyl and visually searchable. The small clutch allows privacy for small personal items and is also easily searched.
Why has this bag policy been adopted?
Los Fresnos CISD is doing its part to provide a safer environment for fans and improve the overall fan experience. During varsity football games, guests will be limited to clear bags of an identified style and size. This measure will enhance safety inside and outside the stadium and is very similar to other school districts’ Clear Bag policies across the nation.
If I have special medical equipment I need to have with me at all times, where do I put that?
An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at designated areas.
