Los Fresnos-After Saturday’s heartbreaking loss to rival Brownsville Rivera, the Lady Falcons needed an answer quickly and got one Tuesday night in straight sets over San Benito (25-11, 25-21, 25-19).
The win gives Los Fresnos their first district win of the year and puts them at the .500 mark with a 1-1 record.
“We played as a team on Saturday, our passing was much better,” said Los Fresnos coach Becky Woods. “We covered the tips a lot better and our hitting was very good.”
Victoria Hernandez led the way with 10 digs, eight kills and two blocks. Tate Halford recorded 19 digs and five kills and Eleyne Rios collected a team high in digs with 33.
The Lady Falcons game against Brownsville Hanna has been rescheduled to November 16.
