Once Again, Basketball Fever has taken over the Valley in the Annual Rio Grande Valley Coaches Association Senior Basketball All-Star Game. From 6A all the way down to 1A, Schools from both the East and West RGV were represented with the best senior basketball players, allowing them to suit up one last time.
For the Falcon Basketball fans, a special treat to see four Falcon players suit up one final time. For The Lady Falcons, Gaby Garrido and Sarahi Jones. While Roger Capetillo and Edsson Picazo got to represent Los Fresnos one more time.
In the Girls 6A All-Star Game, Jones hit a key three to give the East the lead in a close matchup over the West. Jones played standout defense, bringing down multiple rebounds, and was lockdown in the Paint. Gaby Garrido hit some big drive-ins, including going three for four from the free-throw line. Jones’ and Garrido’s solid execution led to the East’s 46-30 win over the West.
For the Falcons on the Boy’s side of things, Edsson Picazo and Roger Capetillo played solid basketball and contributed to the East’s victory over the West 56-44. Capetillo put eight points and went four for 6 from the free-throw line. Edsson Picazo played solid defense while tacking on five points for the East.
