LFHS Engineering Club Advances
- Updated: April 14, 2023

The Los Fresnos High School Engineering Club is advancing to the Seaperch International Competition. The group took first place out of twenty teams during the regional competition in La Joya.
The Engineering Club is comprised of a mix of students from both the CTE engineering pathway and those who are interested in designing and creating. Approximately ten students have worked together since January to create the underwater remote operated vehicle (ROV) for the Seaperch competition. The students, under the direction of PLTW Engineering instructor Javier Martinez, practiced with the ROV in the City of Los Fresnos pool and the Los Fresnos CISD Aquatics Center.
A group of four students represented the team in the competition, including: Manuela Gracia, Engineering Club president, Diego Loa, Engineering Club vice-president
Jesus Guevara, and Jesse Valdez.
The team will compete in May at the University of Maryland.
