District Improvement Plan Presented to Board

Trustees Approve Six Strategy Changes in Presentation by Ada Amaro-Sibaja

Executive Director for Support Services Ada Amaro-Sibaja presented the 2013-14 District Improvement plan to the Board of Trustees, highlighting changes from 2012-13 at their meeting held Monday, June 10.

Some of the changes include changes in the strategies within six of the 10 District Goals.

Trustees also received the following Financial Reports:

  • Portfolio Report
  • Tax Collection Report
  • Summary Revenue and Expenditure Status Reports
  • Monthly Disbursements
  • Budget Amendments
  • Budget/Tax, Election Calendars Presented
  • Trustees received the 2013-14 Budget and Tax Calendar.

Important dates include (subject to change):
• Aug. 12: Budget workshop scheduled prior to the regularly scheduled board meeting. During the meeting, a tax rate will be proposed and a date will be set for a required public hearing.

  • Aug. 26: Public Hearing at a special called meeting and adoption of the tax rate and budget.

Trustees also received the Election calendar for the Nov. 5 Uniform Election Date. Dates include (subject to change):

  • July 27: First day for candidates to file for Place on General Election Ballot
  • Aug. 26: Last day to order General Election
  • Aug. 26: Last day to file for Place on General Election Ballot (5 p.m.)
  • Sept. 6: First day to apply for ballot by mail
  • Oct. 7: Last day to register to vote
  • Oct. 21: First day of early voting
  • Oct. 29: Last day to apply for ballot by mail
  • Nov. 1: Last day of early voting
  • Nov. 5: Election Day

Board Workshop
After the Board meeting, Trustees held a Workshop on the following topics:

  • Presentation by Pioneer Green Energy – San Roman Wind One
  • Presentation on preliminary State Assessment Data
  • Presentation on grading policy
  • Discussion on items pertaining to 2013-14 budget
  • Discussion on improvement of facilities for 2013-14
  • Discussion on enrollment for 2013-14
