Los Fresnos CISD Takes Literacy on the Road

Los Fresnos CISD’s Literacy bus is making its tour this summer. The Bus has been stopping at the different campuses sharing “Free treat and a free book!” On Thursday, June 15, the Literacy Bus stopped at Las Palmas Elementary with guest readers Katina Lucio, Principal at Dora Romero Elementary, Maria Elisa Pindea, Principal at Los Fresnos United, and Sharon Snodgrass, Principal at Villareal Elementary. The event was an hour long and allowed students and parents to look through books on the bus, promoting reading and literacy.
Los Fresnos CISD expressed their enthusiasm, stating, “We have had a blast spending our nights promoting literacy and the importance of reading!”
The Literacy Bus initiative by Los Fresnos CISD seems to highlight the district’s commitment to nurturing literacy skills and encouraging students to become avid readers. By actively going out to bring books directly to the students and engaging them in interactive activities, the program aims to instill a lifelong love for reading while ensuring access to reading materials for all.
Keep up-to-date on the CISD’s Facebook to find the latest. The next and last scheduled stop will be at Ethel Whipple Memorial Library on Wednesday, June 28 at 11:30 AM. You won’t want to miss it!
