SPI Prepares for Annual Fourth of July Parade on the Beach
- Updated: June 28, 2013
South Padre Island, TX, June 18, 2013— The City of South Padre Island’s Parks, Recreation & Beautification Committee is preparing for its annual Fourth of July Parade. The community is invited to take part in this festive celebration down the beach on Thursday, July 4, by the City’s Fantasy Circle beach access (Access 22). The parade starts at 10 a.m., with participants lining up at 9:30 a.m., and will travel down the beach to the Starlight Circle beach access (Access 17). Participants are encouraged to bring musical instruments, decorated wagons, strollers and pets! The Committee will provide free flags, kazoos, festive beads, and because no Fourth of July is complete without watermelon, the Committee will be giving away watermelon to all participants at the end of the parade. Bring the family and show your spirit!
