South Padre Island is Host to First Ever RGV Drone Christmas Light Show

On Saturday December 16th South Padre Island held its first ever drone light show. The show took place at the Cameron County Amphitheater and Events Center and was presented by Space X. The light show named Dashing Through the Sky: A Christmas Drone Story was a spectacular event for all to see. This was the Valley’s first drone show set to illuminate the South Texas sky. There were about 400 drones powered by Sky Elements Drones lighting up the sky that evening. The event was free to the public but since it was at Isla Blanca Park there was an entrance fee to the park. But the show could be seen from other places on the island. The light show wasn’t the only thing going on that evening. There was also a Holiday Village with holiday music, food, and an interactive KidZone. There was a special live performance by Tyrone Vaughn. Let’s hope that next year there will be an even bigger event.
El sábado 16 de diciembre, South Padre Island celebró su primer espectáculo de luces con drones. El espectáculo tuvo lugar en el anfiteatro y centro de eventos del condado de Cameron y fue presentado por Space X. El espectáculo de luces llamado Dashing Through the Sky: A Christmas Drone Story fue un evento espectacular para que todos lo vieran. Este fue el primer espectáculo de drones del Valle destinado a iluminar el cielo del sur de Texas. Había alrededor de 400 drones propulsados por Sky Elements Drones iluminando el cielo esa noche. El evento fue gratuito para el público pero como fue en el Parque Isla Blanca había una tarifa de entrada al parque. Pero el espectáculo se pudo ver desde otros lugares de la isla. El espectáculo de luces no fue lo único que sucedió esa noche. También hubo un Holiday Village con música navideña, comida y una KidZone interactiva. Hubo una actuación especial en vivo de Tyrone Vaughn. Esperemos que el año que viene haya un evento aún mayor.
