Los Fresnos News
After weeks of preparation and scrimmaging, the Los Fresnos Falcons Soccer programs began the regular season over the holiday break. Nearing one week into the regular season, both programs are off to a great start.
The Lady Falcons have had two big matchups that have gone two different ways. The Lady Falcons opened up the regular season against Laredo LBJ. If that match can be summed up in one word, it would be dominance. Los Fresnos took control from the start and never looked back as the Lady Falcons cruised to a 8-1 win over the Lady Wolves.
Game two of the season saw Los Fresnos take on 31-5A Powerhouse McAllen Memorial. In a classic slugfest, both teams battled out as Los Fresnos and McAllen Memorial went the distance, however, the Lady Mustangs prevailed with a 4-2 win.
On the boys side, the Falcons faced off against the Mercedes Tigers. The Falcons displayed dominance and controlled the tempo of the game by advancing to a 4-1 victory over Mercedes. The Falcons then took on the Edinburg North Cougars and despite rallying at the end, The Cougars knocked off the Falcons 2-1.
Now with both teams 1-1 in the season, Falcon Soccer will embark on tournament play for the next few weeks.
