New Restaurant Opens Up in Los Fresnos
- Updated: March 29, 2024

By Mike Villarreal
The City of Los Fresnos has a new restaurant called Pollos Al Carbón Doña Lola. They are serving up some delicious 100 % natural chicken with a flavor only available in South Texas.
Owners Fransisco and Jessica Almanza are not new to the restaurant business, as his mother owns the original Pollos Al Carbón Doña Lola in Weslaco. Wanting to keep the family tradition alive, Francisco told us that his chicken has no additives or steroids, just 100 % natural flavors and love that goes into every single item they prepare.
He grew up in Los Fresnos, where he graduated in 2014, and then met the love of his life, Jessica. They both knew that Los Fresnos needed something different and decided that they would bring their style of “Pollo Al Carbon” to their hometown.
Following in his mother’s footsteps, Francisco knew that an investment in this community was well worth it as he could now serve up some fresh, mouthwatering pollo al carbon.
Francisco mentioned he plans on having specials or a community day to give back to his hometown. Keep checking online on their Facebook page Pollos Al Carbón Doña Lola LF for any specials in the near future.
For now, they are only open as a drive-thru, but they plan on opening a dining area inside. They are located at 108 E. Ocean Blvd. They are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and are closed on Mondays. You can call ahead for less wait time at (956)233-2329.
