City of Los Fresnos Celebrates EMS Week

By Mike Villarreal

In honor of EMS Week (May 19-25, 2024), the City of Los Fresnos showed its appreciation for the incredible Los Fresnos Emergency Services EMS department with a small token of gratitude for the men and women of our EMS Team.

The City of Los Fresnos would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our EMS professionals. We recognize the personal sacrifices they make, often putting their own safety and well-being on the line to ensure ours. Their unwavering dedication and hard work are truly inspiring.

This past week, May 19-25, 2024, was National EMS Week. It’s a time to reflect on the profound impact EMS personnel have on our community’s safety and health. Their work ensures our well-being, and for that, we are truly grateful.

EMS professionals from around the country serve in various roles, from helping to serve as educators, providing skilled care in an ambulance, practicing community paramedicine, and conducting research.
These dedicated individuals are always striving to improve emergency medical services on many levels and are always trying to help advance the vision of EMS Agenda 2050, which is a data-driven, people-centered, evidence-based EMS system.

May 19-25 is not only National EMS Week, but it also marks the 50th Anniversary of EMS Week. Honoring Our Past, Forging Our Future is this year’s theme, which reminds us always to remember the monumental work of those who served and came before us while also moving forward to lead the EMS system we envision for our future.

For the past 50 years, we have celebrated EMS Week, a testament to the progress and achievements of this noble profession. From advancements in pre-hospital care to the development of comprehensive EMS systems, they have paved the way for a safer and healthier future. We are proud to stand with them.
(OEMS) NHTSA’s Office of EMS has always proudly supported the EMS community and honored and recognized the hard work and commitment of the hundreds of thousands of EMS clinicians across our country. Their dedication, unwavering loyalty, and passion have saved many lives then, now, and in the future.

There are never enough words to express gratitude to the men and women of EMS, but thank you for all your hard work and dedication to our great nation.
