By Mike Villarreal

Recently, Los Fresnos City Hall had the wonderful opportunity to welcome the LFCISD Adapted Learning Unit for a meaningful visit. This event was especially important for students with diverse learning needs, as it allowed them to connect with their local government and emergency services in a supportive environment.

During their time at City Hall, the students were guided on a tour, where they learned about the various operations of city departments. They had the chance to meet the dedicated officers from the Los Fresnos Police Department, who generously took the time to explain their vital roles in keeping our community safe. The visit also included a trip to the Los Fresnos Fire Department, which added to the excitement.

The experience proved to be not only educational but also deeply inspiring. The students gained valuable insights into civic responsibility and the importance of community service. They had the opportunity to interact with first responders, ask questions, and see the tools used in emergency situations. The firefighters demonstrated their gear and explained how fire and emergency medical services operate, which captivated and sparked curiosity in the students.

Los Fresnos CISD extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who played a role in making this visit successful. Your support and dedication to nurturing these bright young minds are truly appreciated, and it makes a real difference in their lives.
