Board Approves 18 Positions, Including Asst. Principal, 14 Teachers; Budget Priorities

NEW-TEACHERS

By unanimous vote, trustees approved Jesus Molina as Assistant Principal at Los Fresnos High School, and 17 other positions, including 14 teachers.

Positions approved by the board include:

  • Reynaldo Buendia, Truancy Officer
  • Raul de la Cruz, Athletic Trainer
  • Myrian Kuntz, Educational Diagnostician
  • Yaitzma Caraveo, Teacher, Los Fresnos High School
  • Audrey Escobedo, Teacher, Los Fresnos High School
  • Johvonne Y. Hernandez, Teacher, Los Fresnos High School
  • Heber Olguin, Teacher, AMI
  • Jeffrey Barker, Teacher, Liberty Memorial Middle School
  • Suzanne F. Hall, Teacher, Liberty Memorial Middle School
  • Claudia Rubio-Villarreal, Teacher, Liberty Memorial Middle School
  • Ivan Estrada, Teacher, Los Cuates Middle School
  • Maria Magdalena Bolado, Teacher, Resaca Middle School
  • Patricia Hernandez, Teacher, Resaca Middle School
  • Victoria Anne Vinson, Teacher, Resaca Middle School

In other matters related to personnel, trustees approved the following for the 2013-14 school year:

  • pay grades and job classifications
  • stipends and substitute teacher salary schedule for the 2013-14 school year
  • salary supplements for the 2013-14 school year
  • EAE/UIL Academic Supplements for the 2013-14 school year Trustees also approved the Perfect Attendance Incentive for classroom teachers only of $200 for calendar semester without absences and $600 additional for no absences for the entire work calendar year. Thus, teachers who are not absent during the entire school year receive a total incentive of $1,000.Betty Cardenas, Reynaldo Buendia, Raul de la Cruz, Jesus Molina, Jeffrey Barker, Yaitzma Caraveo, and Suzanne Hall.

Trustees also approved the 2013-14 budget priorities, which includes two major projects.

Topping the priorities are a roof project at Los Cuates Middle School at a price of $500,000, and a Welding Shop addition at Los Fresnos High School at a price of $205,000.
