Hundreds of students, parents, and community members will enter Leo Aguilar Stadium – not intending to watch a Falcon football game or track meet– to attend the sixth annual Los Fresnos Fields of Faith at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9.
The interdenominational outreach event is sponsored by the Los Fresnos High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Students will gather to hear peers share their testimonies.
With a modest beginning of several students gathered on the high school baseball field in 2006, the Los Fresnos Fields of Faith has since grown exponentially. Reflecting national movement, attendees of the Los Fresnos Fields of Faith will join more than 12,000 students on fields in the Rio Grande Valley and more than 200,000 students nationwide.
Musician Tyler Murphy, former lead singer of the band Price Hill, will be the guest speaker.
Maria Jose De Leon and Josh Garza, Los Fresnos High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes co-captains, anticipate a record-breaking turnout.

“It is inexplicably powerful to witness classmates boldly sharing their faith.” De Leon said. “It’s incredible to see that Fields of Faith impacts not only our school, but our entire community,” Garza said.
The entire community is invited. For more information, visit the Fields of Faith website at FieldsofFaith.org.
