Election Returns Canvassed; Castillo, Treviño Re-Elected to Board of Trustees

The Los Fresnos CISD Board of Trustees canvassed results of the Nov. 5 election, showing that Martin Castillo and Ruben Treviño had been re-elected to the board. Both were sworn into office for three-year terms by Justice of the Peace Bennie Ochoa.
Trustees also voted unanimously to keep the current officers: Sandra Garcia, President; Darlene Pederson, Vice-President; Ruben Trevino, Secretary; and Jesus Amaya, Assistant Secretary.
In Other Action…
Under Action Items, trustees took the following action:
- Approved Minutes for meeting held on May 29, 2013 and November 11, 2013
- Approved the addition of Filmmakers Festival to the current list of UIL academic events for the 2013-14 school year.
- Approved the revised PDAS Appraiser List for the 2013-14 school year.
Members of the Los Fresnos High School Tennis Team were recognized at the start of the Board of Trustees meeting. They were introduced by their Coach Bill Sandlin.
The Los Fresnos High School Naval JROTC Color Guard presented the colors at the start of the Los Fresnos CISD Board of Trustees meeting, in honor of Veterans’ Day. The group made presentations at several schools throughout the day Monday, November 18.
