LFHS STUDENTS READ AT RANCHO VERDE ELEMENTARY
- Updated: November 14, 2014
A bus-load of Los Fresnos High School students visited Rancho Verde Elementary and read books to students in lower grades Wednesday.
The students included 20 members of the Falcon football team, six members of the Lady Falcons volleyball team, five members of the LFHS Cheerleaders, and five members of the Stars dance team.
“Our students loved it,” Rancho Verde principal Maria Elisa Pineda said. “I hope that we can make this a yearly tradition.”
The 36 students were divided into the 15 classes that make up grades Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1 and 2. They read children’s stories and told them about the importance of a good education and remaining drug-free. Many students also told students about their experiences in athletics and dance programs at LFHS.
