Mendez Graduates Early, Signs LOI with Purdue

Michael Mendez, the Los Fresnos High School offensive lineman who was voted District 32-6A Lineman of the Year, has signed a Letter of Intent to play football at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.
Mendez earned enough credits to complete requirements for early graduation. His transcript was official on Monday.
He leaves Thursday to the trip to Indiana, and will be enrolled at Purdue for the spring semester, which starts Monday.
He signed his LOI at Purdue last week, pending graduation. Dozens of classmates and friends were on hand for the ceremony Wednesday. Mendez is expected to be back for LFHS Graduation June 6.
