When the RGV Focus Leadership Team held its monthly meeting at Los Fresnos High School Wednesday, January 21st, members got a first-hand look at student success stories.

RGV Focus was established in 2012 by Educate Texas, a public-private initiative of Communities Foundation of Texas. RGV Focus brings together superintendents, higher education presidents, philanthropic partners, and business and community leaders across Cameron, Hidalgo, Pharr and Willacy counties. That Leadership Team meets regularly to identify assets and needs in the RGV, adopt a common vision, and establish shared goals, strategies, and metrics.

The Leadership Team meeting was preceded by presentations by students in Career and Technology program, along with other initiatives.

The program was highlighted by performances by the LFHS Jazz Band, the Mariachi, Conjunto Halcón, and Folkloric dancers.

RGV Focus supports the region by identifying opportunities to enable all learners to achieve a degree or credential which, ultimately, leads to a meaningful career.
