Dora Romero Elementary Class Observes Earth Day
- Updated: May 15, 2015

Dora Romero Elementary students participate in Scavenger Hunt for Earth Day Wednesday.
It was a special day for students in Patricia Amador’s Adaptive Learning Unit at Dora Romero Elementary Wednesday who celebrated the wonders of nature.
The students observed the 45th anniversary of Earth Day, the modern environmental movement, by going on a Nature Scavenger Hunt to see how many items they could find.
The nine primary grade students were looking for flowers, rocks, green leaves, grass, spider webs, birds, sand or dirt, bugs, ants, brown leaves, fern, tree bark and butterflies.
The first Earth Day was April 22, 1970, and is now celebrated around the globe. Earth Day provides people the opportunity to appreciate the natural world.
Students learned about the importance of the environment that sustains us – the air we breathe, the water we drink and the native plants and animals that share our planet.
