The Christian Thrift Shop Continues to Serve Community
- Updated: May 15, 2015
The Christian Thrift Shop at 100 W. 7th Street (corner of W. 7th street and S. Arroyo Blvd) is a little known treasure in our city. Several years ago, the Los Fresnos United Methodist Church turned this home into a thrift store. It is managed and operated by volunteers as a ministry to the community.
The mission of the Christian Thrift Shop is to “honor God and serve people by selling donated items at very low prices to our community and to utilize the proceeds for church missions, ministries, and outreach programs within our community.”
Donated items are also made available free of charge for individuals in need due to emergency situations such as victims of fires, floods, or storms & domestic violence. School counselors may also request clothing and household items for families in need.
Thanks to the generous donations, CTS also donates money quarterly to the LF Community Food Pantry and to several of our local schools for school supplies.
The CTS is open to the public on Saturday mornings from 9:00am to 12 noon.
If you are looking for clothing, shoes, hand bags, household items, toys, kitchen items, records, tapes, movies, books and much more at very low prices come by and browse on any Saturday morning. There is always something different to be discovered.
You can also help your community by donating items you no longer use. Donations of clean, gently used clothing, shoes, children’s toys, tools, small working kitchen appliances and furniture are greatly appreciated. Call the church office for details. Los Fresnos United Methodist Church 233-5760
