Chamber Executive Director, Val Champion presents Mayor Polo Narvaez with a beautiful new Chamber Member plaque for the City of Los Fresnos.
Executive Director of the Los Fresnos Area Chamber of Commerce, Val Champion, delivered the quarterly report before the City Council on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Mr. Champion outlined the current state of the Chamber and discussed some of the activities which the Chamber will no longer organize, such as the Trails End Marketplace held during the Rodeo and the Miss Los Fresnos Pageant. These changes come with the decision to focus the Chamber’s efforts on business networking activities that more directly involve and benefit Los Fresnos local businesses.
During the Rodeo a handful of local businesses who are Chamber members participated in the First Annual Car Show which offered them opportunities to promote their products and services to attendees. Champion added that the Chamber has prepared a series of informative meetings in the upcoming months which will give local business owners insight on capitalizing on the economic growth happening in the Rio Grande Valley.
Prior to delivering the quarterly report, Champion presented the City of Los Fresnos with the first of these beautiful new plaques. The new plaques describe, in photos that are embedded in the plaque, Los Fresnos as a bedroom community. Each photo on the plaque symbolizes some of the great things Los Fresnos has to offer; a public library, park, great schools, and a Rodeo. All of which make Los Fresnos a great place to work and live.
