Student Production Highlights Four-Week ACE Program

About 200 students in the Los Fresnos CISD Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE) program participated in a student production “Wild About ACE” before a packed Laureles Elementary auditorium Wednesday.
Students from Las Yescas Elementary, Laureles Elementary, and Los Fresnos Elementary are participants of the ACE program. The four-week summer program, which started June 8, concluded its fourth year Thursday.
The student production included students were able to showcase dance routines and final projects. The program integrated educational enrichment courses. Students were able to take part in Science, Cooking, Camping, Sports Camp, Film Academy, Social Studies, MindWorks, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop classes among other engaging student activities.
ACE integrates project-based learning and character building lessons and activities to enhance student educational enrichment. ACE also held parental presentations on “Resume Building” and “Work and Family.”
Parents, staff, district partners, district administrators, a TEA representative and students enjoyed the production and shared in the enthusiasm of the upcoming ACE program for the coming school year.
