LFHS NJROTC Team to Compete in Cyber Defense Competition
- Updated: October 16, 2015
Los Fresnos High School NJROTC will participate in the eighth season of CyberPatriot’s National Youth Cyber Defense Competition.
Students from the Navy JROTC unit will compete in the All Service Division against similar teams across the country. This is the first year LFHS NJROTC will be competing.
“CyberPatriot is an awesome opportunity to introduce students that are interested in one of the fastest growing job fields related to STEM,” said Major David Arjona, Senior Naval Science Instructor. “The students enjoy the innovative and fun process of learning about computer networking and security.”

CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air Force Association to inspire high school and middle school students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation’s future.
The program features an annual competition, in which teams across the United States and Canada, as well as from Department of Defense Dependent Schools abroad, compete in a series of online rounds for a chance to earn an all-expenses-paid trip to the in-person CyberPatriot National Finals Competition in Baltimore, Md. in the spring.
