PLE Students, Staff Dress in Old Styles on Back to Future Day
- Updated: November 6, 2015
Palmer-Laakso Elementary students and staff celebrated “Back to the Future” Day by dressing in their favorite styles from the past.
“Back to the Future” Day was observed throughout the country Wednesday. In the movie “Back to the Future Part II” released in 1989, Marty McFly travels forward in time to October 21, 2015, to save his children, yet to be born.
PLE students dressed in their favorite decades, although the 1970s and 1980s were the most popular styles, probably because of their parents. Several teachers even wore poodle skirts which were popular in the 1950s.
The day culminated with a showing of the movie “Back to the Future” at 5 p.m. A replica Marty McFly hat made popular in the “Back to the Future II” movie was raffled to a student attending the movie. Student Nicolas Sandoval dressed as Marty McFly during the school day.
