Election Votes Canvassed; Trustees Sworn Into Office
- Updated: November 27, 2015

Leading the Pledge of Allegiance before the meeting were students (left to right) Ronaldo and Romario Barreto, pre-kindergarten students at Lopez-Riggins Elementary; and Katelynn and Ethan Ozuna, students at Los Fresnos Elementary.
Los Fresnos CISD trustees Leonel Garza, Sandra Garcia and Darlene Pederson were sworn into office for new three-year terms at a special called Board of Trustees meeting Monday.
Each was sworn into office by Migdalia Lopez, 197th District Judge. The votes of the Nov. 3 election were canvassed and the results of the election were declared. Garza, Pederson and Garcia were re-elected.
Trustees also agreed to leave the board officers the same. Pederson is Board President, Ruben Trevino is Vice-President, Jesus Amaya Secretary and Garza Assistant Secretary.
In other action, trustees approved substantial completion of the Los Fresnos United Ninth Grade Campus Gym/Safe Room Alternate #1, and approved additional district personnel to the 2015-16 Language Proficiency Assessment Committees (LPAC).
