Clark Named to All-State Choir for Second Straight Year
- Updated: January 22, 2016
For the second straight year, Los Fresnos High School senior Kathleen Clark has been selected to the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Choir, this time as First Chair.
At the Area G Choir Competition Saturday in Rockport, Clark earned First Chair for the area, which includes Texas Music Education Association (TMEA) regions 13, 14, 15 and 28. The area includes a region southwest of Houston to include Victoria, and an area that includes Corpus Christi, Laredo, and the rest of south Texas and the Rio Grande Valley.
Clark, who competes as a Soprano I, qualified for area by placing among the top five students at the region level in November. She has been singing competitively since middle school.
The top ten participants in each section were named to the Texas All-State Choir. She and the other All-State members will perform at the Texas Music Education Association Convention Feb. 13 in San Antonio.
As First Chair, Clark is effectively the best high school soprano in South and southeast Texas. She is also the reigning Miss Los Fresnos.
