Students were the focus of attention at the Los Fresnos United Dedication of New Facilities Saturday as visitors got a sneak preview of the new areas of the school.
Career and Technology program students explained what they will be doing in the new classrooms to about 150 people who attended the ceremony. At the new classroom building, students in the health occupations, engineering and robotics programs told visitors about the new environment.
At the new band hall, students in several programs also performed for visitors. The LFHS band split into three different areas, as visitors got to see practice sessions led by band directors and assistant directors.
LFHS Choral Music students also rehearsed for visitors, as did the LFHS Folklorico, Mariachi Nuevo Halcón and Conjunto Halcón.
Visitors also got to tour the new athletic areas, including the new weight rooms, locker rooms and the Safe Room/Gynnasium.
At the opening ceremony, the LFHS Jazz Band performed. Senior Kathleen Clark sang “Think on These Things” and senior Julissa Rodriguez addressed the audience about “The Key to Life.”
