Recycling in the City of Los Fresnos
- Updated: June 24, 2016
City of Los Fresnos would like to remind the community that they offer a Mobile Recycling Trailer for voluntary recycling by the community. The trailer was purchased through grant funding awarded to the City by the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council & Regional Solid Waste Program.
City officials are very excited to provide this service to the citizens of Los Fresnos. Recycling is a key component in protecting our environment and saving our dwindling resources. The effects of recycling are subtle but cumulative.
- Some of the benefits of recycling include
- Reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators
- Conserves natural resources such as timber, water, and minerals
- Prevents pollution by reducing the need to collect new raw materials
- Saves energy
- Reduces greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global climate change
- Helps sustain the environment for future generations
- Helps create new well-paying jobs in the recycling and manufacturing industries in the United States
Our world depends on it and it is never too late to get started.
