Library Summer Reading Program a Success
- Updated: August 5, 2016
July 22, 2016 marked the final day of the Ethel L. Whipple Memorial Library Summer Reading Program, On Your Mark, Get Set, Read.
Thanks to the generosity of H.E.B., Wal-Mart, and the Friends of the Library we were able to provide 3 weeks of reading, entertainment, and snacks to over 50 children.
This year’s presenters included Mr. Simon Vega (Little Graceland), Ms. Diana Davis (LFCISD Nurse), and Coach J. Araiza (C.A.T.C.H. State Champion Recipient from Olmito Elementary).
Many thanks to all of our local professionals for their awesome presentations.
At the program finale the library presented each child that participated the three weeks with a backpack, 3 age appropriate books, and school supplies.
