Emergency Vehicle Collides with Tractor-trailer

On Tuesday, July 19, a tractor-trailer collided with a Los Fresnos ambulance vehicle that was in service transporting a woman to Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville. The ambulance was traveling southbound on Paredes Line Road when it was struck by the eighteen-wheeler traveling eastbound on FM511.
The collision caused the ambulance to roll. The three Los Fresnos Paramedics, the patient and the truck driver were taken to the hospital for treatment. The woman being transported later died at the hospital.
The details leading up to the collision were still under investigation at the time of this report. According to Los Fresnos’ Public Information Officer Los Fresnos had three ambulances available through a recent purchase of a new ambulance though only two were kept in service.
Los Fresnos will still have two emergency vehicles available to service the area.
