New Substitute Teachers Go Through Two-day Training

Thirty-one prospective substitute teachers went through a two-day training to be prepared to teach classes with regular teachers are not available.
They were trained by Human Resources Office staff on the first day, and then by Region One ESC Human Resources Director Melissa Ramirez on the second day.
Topics included classroom management, teaching strategies, professionalism, school policies and special education. The substitute teachers also participated in several activities.
Classes began Monday, August 15th, in the Los Fresnos CISD.
The next training session for prospective substitute teachers will be held in January. People interested in becoming a substitute teacher in the Los Fresnos CISD may call the Human Resources Office at 956-254-5001.
