- Updated: September 9, 2016
by Ronnie Zamora/LFCISD
All nine elementary schools had busy evenings Monday, August 29th, for Back-to-School Nights, an opportunity for parents to meet with school administrators and teachers.
Most schools held a general parent orientation meeting to start the evening, where they principals and assistant principals talked about numerous school policies and procedures.
They were then dismissed to the classrooms of their children to meet with their teachers and to hear about the academic expectations for the coming year.
Los Fresnos United, which houses students in grades 9 and 10, held its Back-to School Night Aug. 29. Los Fresnos High School will host parents from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, while middle schools will hold Back-to-School Hight from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6.
Parent Academic Conferences – intended to review academic progress for students – are scheduled in the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 21, after the first nine-week marking period. Early dismissal is scheduled for district students that day so that parents can meet with teachers that afternoon.
