SafeRide Driving Academy Collects Water Donations for Corpus Christi Area
- Updated: December 30, 2016
by Victor Moreno/LFN
Upon hearing of the news that the City of Corpus Christi and surrounding areas were without any kind of water due to a dangerous chemical in their water supply and that city officials had advised residents not to use tap water for normal activities such as bathing, brushing teeth, washing clothes and washing foods, Mr. Ricardo Balli, of SafeRide Driving Academy was moved to action.
Balli sent the call out to take water donations only and offered to transport the donations in the SafeRide Driving Academy cargo truck and trailer. The cargo truck is primarily used for student drivers taking their commercial drivers licence test however for that weekend the truck was used for relief efforts.
The truck and trailer were parked at the south end of the Walmart parking lot from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Friday, December 16th and Saturday, December 17th. The water donations were delivered on Monday, December 19th.
