Each of Los Cuates Middle School’s three bands experienced great success at UIL Concert Evaluation and Sight-Reading April 4-6 in Harlingen.
For the first time in the history of our school, the Cougar Band sent three bands to UIL. The Concert Band made its debut on the UIL stage where they received a first division for their performance. The band is conducted by Jerry Morales.
The Symphonic Band continued a long-time tradition of being awarded a UIL sweepstakes trophy for straight 1 ratings on Stage and in Sight-reading. The band is conducted by Mr. Bryan Morrell.
The Honor Band was also awarded a UIL Sweepstakes trophy and earned straight 1 ratings on Stage and in Sight-reading. The Honor Band, under the direction of Criselda Marroquin-Morrell, has been awarded the sweepstakes trophy 14 times in the last 15 years.
