Behavioral Health Solutions of South Texas To Host “I Tune Out Drugs” Back To School Fair At Ethel Whipple Memorial Library

Free Services, Food and School Supplies To Be Provided To Those Who Attend
Behavioral Health Solutions of South Texas’ Youth Prevention Selective Program will be hosting a back to school fair Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Ethel Whipple Memorial Library. The time for the event has been set for 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The event is themed “I tune out drugs” and the purpose of the event is to raise awareness to the benefits of being drug free and staying in school.
The program is expected to provide free health screenings, hair cuts, wellness information, school supplies and water activities for approximately 300 adults and 300 children while supplies last. There will also be free popcorn and snow cones served.
Community sponsors such as Stars Drive In, Dr. Julian Alvarez, M.D., Security Finance, and Chinese Express provided donations to make the event possible. The Youth Prevention Selective Program was created to promote positive actions in the community and providing school supplies for children in colonia areas of Cameron County to support them in reaching their educational goals.
