New Aquatic Center to be Dedicated Saturday, Sept. 2nd
- Updated: September 1, 2017
by Ronnie Zamora/LFCISD
The public is invited to see the new Los Fresnos CISD Aquatic Center at its dedication at 9 a.m. this Saturday, Sept. 2nd.
The Los Fresnos Area Chamber of Commerce will participate with a ribbon-cutting of the facility, located adjacent to the west side of Leo Aguilar Memorial Stadium.
Construction began one year ago. Previously, Los Fresnos High School swimmers practiced at the Memorial Park Swimming Pool located across the street from LFHS.
The pool features an eight-lane 25-yard pool with a diving area, and a ramp for wheelchair access for special needs students. The facility also features a weight room with separate access from the swimming pool area.
LFHS boys’ and girls’ swim coach Jaime Perez also manages the facility.
Swimmers will hold a special practice session for the visitors, and student-athletes will be using the equipment at the weight room. The LFHS Mariachi Halcón will also perform for visitors.
Light refreshments will also be served.
