Parents Meet Teachers at Back-to-School Nights
- Updated: September 8, 2017

Parents flocked to the campuses of their children for Back-to-School nights Aug. 28-30 at the district’s 14 schools.
Los Fresnos High School and Los Fresnos United each held BTS on Aug. 28. The nine elementary campuses invited parents on Aug, 29, and the three middle schools did the same on Aug. 30.
BTS Nights are intended for parents to meet campus administrators and teachers for the 2017-18 school year, and to learn about the academic expectations for the coming year.
At LFHS and LFU, parents went directly to the classrooms of the teachers in all subject areas.
Elementary campuses held short presentations in the school cafeterias in English and Spanish. Some students had musical performances to entertain parents as well. Following the presentations, the parents went to the classrooms, where teachers were waiting with presentations of their own.
Middle schools started their BTS nights with presentations in the school gymnasiums before parents went to meet teachers in their classrooms.
Parent Academic Conferences – intended to review academic progress for students – are scheduled in the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 20, after the first nine-week marking period. Early dismissal is scheduled for district students that day so that parents can meet with teachers that afternoon.
