- Updated: October 26, 2017
Eight schools are scheduled to participate in the Tailgate Zone before the Falcon football game against Harlingen Friday, Oct. 27.
It will be the largest Tailgate Zone of the season, featuring the Los Fresnos High School Mariachi Nuevo Halcón, and will be held at the Los Fresnos Elementary School parking lot located just across the parking lot from Leo Aguilar Memorial Stadium.
Fans at the Los Fresnos-Harlingen football game, which begins at 7:30 p.m., will be in for a special Mariachi treat as well. For the first time, Mariachi Nuevo Halcón will accompany the LFHS Women’s Varsity Choir for playing and singing of the National Anthem.
Friday’s game is the last home game for the Falcons for the regular season. The LFHS Senior Class of 2018 will hold its traditional Senior Walk around the track after the game concludes.
Six elementary schools will join the Resaca Middle School Band and Cheerleaders, the LFHS Marching Band, Stars dance/drill team and cheerleaders.
Elementary schools scheduled to perform include Las Yescas, Lopez-Riggins, Los Fresnos, Palmer-Laakso, Rancho Verde and Dora Romero.
Performances are scheduled to begin at about 5:40 p.m. and conclude at about 6:45 p.m. with the LFHS Marching Band.
