Miss Rodeo Queen Takes Reign

For Madelynn Hill, Saturday night was another special day in her life.
After being the Cameron County Fair & Livestock Show queen for the last year, she took over a new responsibility as Queen of the 2018 Los Fresnos Rodeo.
She received the distinction during Saturday’s Cowgirl contest.
“It an honor and I feel very proud,” Hill said after she received a beautiful flower bouquet “For me, this is a big responsibility. A lot of people will be looking at me.”
She said she knows other girls will view her as an example for the community.
As the rodeo queen, Hill’s presence will be noticed during the three-day event scheduled to be held from Friday, Feb. 17 through Sunday, Feb. 18, which is now its 28th year.
According to rules set by the organization, the outgoing livestock queen takes the rodeo crown after a year.
