CDC Cancels Meetings for Lack of Quorum
- Updated: May 25, 2018

A meeting of Los Fresnos Community Development Corp, was called off Monday, May 14, making it the second time in as many weeks.
The meeting did not happen because there was no quorum as only three of eight board members showed up.
At issue was the possible approval of $4,000 to buy fireworks for the July Fourth celebration.
The city council met two weeks ago and was scheduled to approve the allocation but only after the CDC board acts on the matter.
Other agenda items include consideration and action to hear a year-to-date sales tax report, approving sign grants for Sun Bae Taekwondo Academy and Parra’s Tamales y Mas and approving an advertising budget to inform the public of available grants for available work force training.
The meeting was rescheduled for this week.
Desi Martinez, liaison for CDC, said calling off a meeting happens from time to time.
Asked if it happens twice in a row, he replied saying, “It’s very rare but it happens.”
